Madrone is a Pacific Northwest hardwood that is very easy to work with and finish. This burl was pressure cooked and vacuum kiln dried. The internal stress has been removed through the pressure cooking process. An occasional surface or edge check may be present. Checks or inclusions are normal in the burl eyes. If black color is present on the surface of the board, it usually does not penetrate further than 1/2". This is a gorgeous species that is ideal for many woodworking projects!
